Parsons Brinckerhoff has been awarded the role of Program Management Office Consultant by the Development Commission of Makkah and Mashaaer (DCOMM) on the Makkah Public Transport Program (MPTP). The contract is worth approximately US$96.6M and is expected to last 60 months.

Makkah awards huge transport program scheme to Parsons

Consultancy firm Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed program management consultant on the Makkah Public Transport Program in Saudi Arabia. The firm has been awarded a 60-month contract with a fee of approximately $93m from the Development Commission of Makkah and Mashaaer to oversee the construction of a network of buses and trains providing transport across Makkah.

Green light for SR 62 bn Makkah transport revamp

The Council of Ministers has approved a 62-billion-riyal plan to modernize the transport system in Makkah, including building a bus network and metro system, Culture and Information Minister Abdul Aziz Khoja announced. Four metro lines of a total length of 182 km will be built across the city, with 88 stations, he said.
